abortion rights in asia ?

Writer's picture: Advait SinghAdvait Singh

Abortion laws and regulations vary widely across Asia. Some countries, like China, allow abortions in certain circumstances such as when the woman's health is at risk or in cases of fetal abnormalities, while other countries like Indonesia and the Philippines have stringent laws that prohibit abortion except in cases where the woman's life is in danger. In some countries like India, abortion is legal up to 20 weeks of pregnancy.

In recent years, there have been debates and protests in a number of Asian countries regarding the right to access safe and legal abortions. Activists argue that restrictive abortion laws put women's health at risk and violate their reproductive rights. However, conservative groups believe that abortion should be prohibited in all circumstances.

The issue of abortion rights in Asia remains a controversial and complex one, with varying opinions and legal frameworks across different countries.
